Collection from Noida & Indirapuram, Ghaziabad

Purpose of Test

Our liver produces a waste product called urea which mixes nitrogen in the blood. This test is used to measure that nitrogen in the blood. It will help us to know whether the kidney of a patient is working normally or not as abnormal result will indicate that kidney is unable to reduce this nitrogen level.
NORMAL TEST RESULTS
The range of normal results of this test varies according to the age of the patient. In adults it is found to be ranging from 10-20mg/dL whereas in children it is 5-18mg/dL.
Reasons Behind Abnormal Results

If the nitrogen content is very much or very less than the required amount then the results are said to be abnormal.

High values indicate that a patient might be suffering from chronic kidney disease, diabetes or high blood pressure. A low value indicates that the patient is suffering from malnutrition, overhydration or chronic liver diseases.
