Purpose of Test
Luetinizing hormone is an important hormone which is called as gonadotropin and is responsible for growth and development of sex organs in both male and female. In women it affects the ovaries, and in men the testes. Whereas FSH, Follicle Stimulating Hormone is the hormone responsible ovarian follicular in females and spermatogenesis in males. This test is used to determine their levels in the body and hence is an important test.

Reasons Behind Abnormal Results
The abnormal test results may be due to or cause the following complications:-

- Testicle damage
- Unable to produce eggs or sperms
- Under developed ovaries

The test is performed in a simple way by taking blood sample of patient which is then examined in lab. Few medications may affect the results of test hence your doctor may ask you to avoid their intake few hours before the test. Your blood sample will be examined and tested in lab to check your FSH, and LH levels.
