Purpose of Test

Parasites present in our blood are responsible for releasing few antigens like LDH and HRP2 which are responsible for casing malaria. This test is done to know the presence and amount of such antigens in the body to detect malaria. Although nowadays malaria can be cured it is still a harmful disease. Hence, this test is very important for a patient showing the symptoms of malaria.
NORMAL TEST RESULTS
In this test the test reports are either positive or negative. Negative test reports states that the patient is absolutely free from malaria and is not suffering from any parasitic disease.
Reasons Behind Abnormal Results

Abnormal results means the positive reports. This may indicate or cause the following complications:-

  • The patient may or might not be suffering from malaria and should go for further diagnosis.
  • The patient have chances of suffering from severe fever

How Test Performed

The test is performed by taking the patient’s blood sample in the laboratory. Here the patient may be asked to fast before the test. The patient’s blood will be tested in the laboratory with the help of various specimens to detect for this disease.
